On Saturday, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Alzaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Pakistan, met Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori at the Governor’s Palace. Bakheet Ateeq Ali Alayan Alremeithi, Consul General of the United Arab Emirates in Karachi, also attended the event. The two sides held detailed discussions on investment opportunities in the province, relief operations for flood victims, UAE cooperation in this regard, and other issues of mutual concern.
The Governor said relations between the UAE and Pakistan are decades-old. The UAE has helped us in every difficult and trying time, even during natural disasters in the province. The UAE has been helping victims.
He further said that with the support of friendly countries and philanthropists, flood victims are recovering. He said the government was taking steps to rehabilitate victims with the support of friendly countries as infrastructure was damaged due to the unusual rain in the province.
The ambassador of the United Arab Emirates said that forging a loving relationship with the people of Pakistan, the UAE will contribute to rehabilitation efforts in the province. He said the UAE is keen to see Pakistan stable, strong and powerful in the region. Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Secretary (CS) Dr Mohammad Sohail Rajput visited Sindh Governor Mohammad Kamran Khan Taisori here on Saturday. They discussed measures to restore flood victims, build infrastructure and other matters.
The Governor said at the time that the rehabilitation of flood victims should be intensified. He said the federal government also worked for those affected by the floods through the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA).
Kamran Tessori thanked friendly countries and local philanthropists for their help. Chief Secretary Dr Mohammed Sohail Rajput briefed the Governor on the provincial government’s efforts for flood victims.
