The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has extended its visa ban for travelers from Pakistan. The ban, which previously applied to 22 cities, has now been extended to 24 cities. Adnan Paracha, spokesman for the Pakistan Overseas Employment Association (POEA), said: “The UAE imposed restrictions on people from these cities because the agents misrepresented their visit visas but told them they were sent on work visas,” as As quoted by 24NewsHD.TV.
Paracha said the problem was the result of fraud by the travel agency.
“The UAE imposed restrictions on people from these cities because the agent misrepresented their visitor visa but told them they were sent on a work visa,” he said.
“Later, when these people could not find work, they started begging on the streets of the UAE and were expelled by the government,” he said.
The Pakistani cities for which the UAE has imposed a visa ban are Dera Ghazi Khan, Dera Ismail Khan, Qulam Agency, Koshab, Palachinar, Shehupura, Abbottabad, Kasu Nawab Shah, Quetta, Sargodha, Atok, Chakwal, Bajaur Agency, Hangu, Kohat, Mohmand Agency, Sukkur, Skardu, Hunza, Kotli and Sahiwal .
Earlier, the UAE imposed a visa ban on 12 cities in Pakistan. Later, the list was increased to 22 and then to 24.
However, Pakistan’s foreign ministry refuted reports that the UAE had imposed a ban on Pakistanis.

Pakistani foreign ministry spokesman Mumtaz Zahra Baloch glossed over Adnan Paracha’s claim that issuing visas to Pakistanis was not blacklisted or banned by the UAE.
“We have seen the reports and can confirm that there is no ban in the UAE on issuing visas to Pakistani citizens,” Baloch said.
The UAE has also rejected any visa ban imposed on travelers from Pakistan.
