Indian residents in the UAE now have another economic option when flying to their home country.

Low-cost airline IndiGo has launched direct flights between Hyderabad and Ras Al Khaimah, offering budget-conscious UAE residents an alternative route.

The airline has launched flights to three destinations in the UAE, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, according to the airline’s website. Ras Al Khaimah is the 11th destination in the Middle East, the 26th international destination and the 100th destination in its network.

India-UAE is currently one of the busiest routes as Indian citizens make up the largest percentage of the emirate’s population. Additionally, the recently signed Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (Cepa) will also boost tourism in the coming years.

“The country has seen a surge in domestic and international travel this year and we are meeting this demand by introducing new routes and increasing frequencies on existing routes. Given the increasing demand, we have opened a new route between Hyderabad and Ras Al Khaimah. Direct flights. With the introduction of these flights, IndiGo now operates 14 weekly flights from two Indian cities,” said Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales, IndiGo.

“We will continue to offer more flight options, delivering on our promise of on-time, affordable, courteous and hassle-free travel through our unrivaled network,” he said.
