Leaders discuss bilateral cooperation and strategic partnership

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held tripartite talks with French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna, and Indian Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Jay Shankar.
The meeting, held on the sidelines of the 77th United Nations General Assembly in New York, discussed bilateral cooperative and strategic partnerships and how they can be further developed to support the three countries’ efforts to achieve economic prosperity and sustainable development.
Sheikh Abdullah also joined Colonna and Dr Jaishankar to review a number of issues of mutual concern, including climate change and ways to advance global efforts to combat climate change, particularly with the UAE hosting the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) in 2023 .
The meeting discussed developments in the regional and international spheres and the importance of strengthening international cooperation to address global challenges including energy and food security.
During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah said that the UAE has established excellent relations and fruitful strategic partnerships with India and France, noting that the three countries share a common vision and aspiration to achieve sustainable growth in their societies , in order to achieve the progress and prosperity of its people.
Dr. Jaishankar and Dr. Colonna highlighted the importance of this tripartite meeting and its role in strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership with the UAE at all levels.
The meeting was attended by Dr Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Political Affairs and UAE Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
