UAE Institute of Engineers presents first-ever Excellence Award

The UAE Society of Engineers has set October 14 as the deadline to submit entries for the inaugural Excellence and Creative Engineering Awards. Through these awards, the association aims to recognize the outstanding work of pioneers in engineering and encourage a culture of innovation.

Launched in March last year, the awards recognize pioneers in engineering for their outstanding work and achievements in an increasingly competitive market.

It also aims to encourage a culture of innovation and creativity in all engineering programs and emphasizes the importance of national engineering jobs in addition to fostering growth, creativity and leadership skills.

Awards will be divided into two categories – institutional and individual. The Institutions category is for engineering offices, institutions, companies, and departments. It includes two awards: “Pioneering Engineering Project”, dedicated to recognizing the best outstanding engineering project in any field of engineering, and the “Enterprise Award” which also includes “Best Engineering Services or Consulting Firm” and “Best Construction Firm” in addition to ” Best Industrial Company/Company”.

Under the ‘Individual’ category, the top award is the ‘Leading Person Award’. It will be awarded to leading UAE figures who support engineering efforts in the country, while the Distinguished Engineer Award will be awarded to outstanding engineers who use innovative methods and smart technologies in their projects.

The third award in this category is the Future Engineer Award, which will be awarded to young Emirati engineers who have distinguished themselves in their fields and contributed to driving innovation through the design and implementation of pioneering engineering projects with unique characteristics impact and yield.

Fourth, the “Outstanding Student Award”, which will be awarded to the best students in the Faculty of Engineering, to encourage and enhance the spirit of competition and innovation between students and a new generation of engineers, as well as their ability to provide innovative solutions in the engineering field. .

According to members of the association, the award received an overwhelming response, with nominations from numerous individuals and institutions. These include government and private organizations, as well as students from universities across the country.

Engineer Abdulla Yousef Al Ali, President of the Institute of Engineers, said: “We are delighted to be part of the inaugural cycle of the award, which reflects the evolution of the engineering sector in the UAE.”

“The Excellence and Creative Engineering Awards are in line with the UAE Vision 2021, which sees innovation as a key pillar for a knowledge-based, diverse and flexible economy led by UAE proficiency, enhanced by best practices to ensure the UAE’s Sustainable prosperity is a nation that keeps up with ongoing developments in engineering through the adoption and implementation of innovative creative projects and ideas,” said Al Ali.

“The award is also in line with the ambition of the Emirates Engineers to highlight the latest developments and innovative models, to support and encourage engineering creativity and innovation, and to execute its strategic plan to meet the future challenges of the industry, while enhancing engineering skills and providing engineering for the public. and private sector organisations,” he added.

“The ‘Outstanding Student Award’ is aimed at undergraduates in the Faculty of Engineering across all disciplines and aims to support excellence and enhance competition and innovation among students.

“This is designed to support their knowledge, broaden their horizons, encourage them to study and continue their research, and equip graduates with a scientific background to respond to the rapid development of global technology,” said engineer Al Ali.

“The award recognizes those most deserving of their ingenuity and hard work, distinguishing them from their competitors and demonstrating that they deserve recognition,” he added.

Al Ali said the top three winners of each award in the “Institutional” category will receive certificates and medals. As for the “Individual” category, the winner of the “Leading Person Award” will also receive a certificate and a medal.

The top three winners of the “Outstanding Engineer Award”, “Future Engineer Award” and “Outstanding Student Award” will receive financial awards in addition to medals and certificates. –arab trade news agency
