Saeed Ahmed told the Oman News Agency (ONA) that the visit, which will culminate in a fraternal meeting between His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and the UAE President, will positively reflect the aim of A joint action process to develop cooperation in all areas between the two countries. He noted that exchanges between His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and His Majesty Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and their continued enthusiasm for deepening relations and cooperation have driven various fields further growth and development – “We are now reaping the fruits of this bilateral action.”

The ambassador noted that the integration between Oman and the UAE provides strong support for promising economic and investment opportunities.

He explained that the two countries envisage cooperation with a focus on the future, highlighting investment opportunities, simplifying procedures for investors from both countries, expanding partnerships in the business sector, and converting investments into economic projects that achieve mutual benefits and speeding up trade flows . .

Sayyid Ahmed said the UAE has topped Oman’s trading partners for the past five years, noting that Oman is the UAE’s second largest GCC trading partner. “This reinforces our optimistic view of the verdant future of the Oman-UAE economic partnership,” he said.

Oman’s total exports to the UAE reached RM1.3 billion in 2021, compared to RM1.2 billion in 2020. Sayyid Ahmed added that Oman’s exports to the UAE accounted for 7.8 percent of Oman’s total exports in 2021.
Saeed Ahmed also stressed the importance of coordination at the political level between the two countries through coordination and consultation on various regional and international issues.

Oman and the UAE share a strategic trade partnership to support their economies and develop investment opportunities between the two countries, with agreements and memorandums of understanding covering financial and real estate activities, as well as agriculture, fish and animal products, among others.

The Omani Embassy in Abu Dhabi has contributed to attracting and exchanging investment between the two countries by launching a national program to attract private investment and strengthen Omani exports in foreign markets, as directed by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq .

He said the program is one of the accelerators implemented in the first phase of Oman Vision 2040, which is related to the economy and development. He further stated that the plan will focus on Oman’s exports and support their access to foreign markets as a major tributary to the national economy.

The ambassador also stressed the importance of mutual visits and continuous coordination between officials of the two countries, saying that this process maximizes the prospects for cooperation in various fields and increases investment opportunities.

He mentioned that the Oman-UAE Economic Forum held two sessions in October 2021 and February 2022, resulting in fruitful discussions on promoting trade and investment partnerships.
