DUBAI – Authorities in the United Arab Emirates announced on Saturday that it would grant golden visas to some imams, preachers and religious researchers on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has been honored by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai instructions to decide on this.
Those awarded the coveted Golden Visa include imams, muezzins, preachers, muftis and religious researchers who have worked in Dubai for 20 years, according to a statement from the Dubai Media Office.
In addition to the golden visa, they will also receive “economic honours” for their efforts in promoting religion, upholding public morals and helping to spread the values ​​of tolerance unique to the United Arab Emirates.

The UAE’s “Golden Visa” is a long-term residence visa that allows foreign talents to live, work or study in the UAE while enjoying exclusive benefits, including:
- Six-month multiple-entry entry visa for residence issuance
- Long-term renewable residence visa valid for 5 or 10 years
- No Sponsor Privileges Required
- Able to stay outside the UAE beyond the usual six months to keep their residence visa valid
- Ability to sponsor members of their family, including spouse and children, regardless of age
- Can sponsor an unlimited number of domestic helpers
- In the event of the death of the main holder of the Golden Visa, family members may remain in the UAE until the end of the permit period.
Many global stars have obtained golden visas. These include Christiano Ronaldo, Giorgio Armani, Pakistani actors Sarah Khan and Falak Shabir, Iqra Aziz Hussain and her husband Yasir Hussain, Fakhr e Alam and Peshawar Zalmi’s owner Javed Afridi.
Apart from Sithara Krishnakumar, musician Stephen Devassy and actor Sudheer Karamana, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Suniel Shetty from Bollywood also received the UAE Golden Visa.
