A new programme aimed at attracting, recruiting and training UAE university graduates interested in joining the aviation industry has been launched in Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi Airports, the operator of five airports in the UAE, announced on Tuesday the launch of the ‘ASAAS’ programme, which aims to provide UAE graduates with knowledge and experience in airport operations and management.

As part of the programme, successful university graduates will undergo six months of on-the-job training – fully sponsored by Abu Dhabi Airports in partnership with leading educational institutions. The training is designed to cover a wide range of industry-related topics such as airport operations (land and airside), aircraft flight and ground operations, health and safety, security management and general business management studies.

Britain. Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports, said: “Investing in aviation is at the heart of our mission at Abu Dhabi Airports.

The ‘ASAAS’ programme is a testament to our commitment to paving the way for a new generation of Emirates leaders who have the knowledge and experience to sustain the growth and development of this vital sector in Abu Dhabi and the UAE. “

“Through intensive on-the-job training in partnership with Abu Dhabi’s leading universities, the next generation of aviation leaders will be equipped to shape the future of airports,” he added.

Hanan Ibrahim Al Abed, Chief Human Resources Officer, Abu Dhabi Airport, commented: “We are delighted to partner with the emirate’s top universities to sponsor a dedicated academic programme to enable selected candidates to understand what they need in their studies in Abu Dhabi. Airports open up new career adventures.”

Partner universities and educational institutions will be announced soon.
