UAE jobs: Students’ monthly salary expectations raised to nearly Dh20,000 per month – News

Salary expectations for students in the UAE have increased over the past year due to increased employment opportunities in the post-Covid-19 recovery period and the rising cost of living in the country.

According to a 2022 survey by employer branding firm Universum, a university student in the UAE can expect to earn close to Dh19,726 a month, up from around Dh18,000 last year.

Male students are expected to earn about Dh18,914 a month this year, compared to Dh17,976 last year. Similarly, monthly salary expectations for female college students also increased from Dh18,537 to Dh20,036.

The survey was conducted between October 2021 and July 2022 and covered 30 universities and 128 fields of study.

Covering 8,543 students, including 1,686 in business/business, 3,759 in engineering/IT, 370 in natural science, 1,553 in humanities/art/education/law, and 1,175 in health/medicine.

Over the past year, the UAE economy has rebounded strongly in the wake of the coronavirus, with key sectors such as tourism, real estate, and healthcare recovering well and creating many jobs. Additionally, the introduction of the UAE’s Golden Visa for students has made the country more attractive for students to stay in the country for higher education rather than immigrate to other Western countries.

Most Attractive Employer

University students in the UAE prefer to join entities that offer high future earnings, professional training and development, respect for people, ethical standards, safe employment, friendly work environment, flexible working conditions, inspirational leaders, innovation and encouragement of work-life balance .

Universum research has found that local brands remain the most attractive employers for UAE university students in 2022.

Emaar remains the employer of choice for business students in 2022, followed by Emirates Airline, Apple, Google, Adnoc Group, Dubai Airports, Microsoft, Etihad Airways, Amazon and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank. Other major entities include Majid Al Futtaim Group, Etisalat, Dubai Police, Al Futtaim Group, Emirates NBD, Dewa, Enoc and Dubai Islamic Bank, among others.

Among engineering/IT students, the top employers are Adnoc Group, Masdar, Emaar, MBR Space Centre, DEWA, ​​Emirates airline, Google, Microsoft, Apple and Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (Enec).

For natural science students, the most attractive employers in 2022 are Masdar, MBR Space Centre, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Seha, Dubai Health Authority, Enec, Adnoc Pfizer and Abu Dhabi Electricity and Water Authority .

Most attractive employers for students studying Humanities/Liberal Arts/Education/Law are Emaar, Emirates, Abu Dhabi Police, Dubai Police, Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, Dubai Airport, Mas Dahl, Adnoc Group, Etihad Airways and Google.

For students in the health/medicine field, Dubai Health Authority, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Seha, Pfizer, Dubai Police, Emirates, Masdar, Dubai Airports, L’Oreal Group and Google are the most attractive employers.
