DUBAI: Dazzling fireworks, stunning laser and drone shows, celebrity concerts, parades, a world-record-breaking pyrotechnic display and more will usher in the New Year in the UAE.
In Dubai, residents and visitors will have a variety of options as fireworks will light up the night sky at more than 30 locations across the city. As part of the ongoing 28th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), there will also be concerts featuring regional and international stars, as well as family-friendly events and drone shows.
The Burj Khalifa (the world’s tallest tower at 828 meters) will once again be at the center of the festivities, and onlookers will be sure to enjoy a breathtaking display of lasers, lights and fireworks in Downtown Dubai heading into 2023 year.
More celebrations will be held at other landmarks and picturesque locations in Dubai, including Atlantis, The Palm, Frame Dubai, Bluewaters, The Beach JBR and the iconic Burj Al Arab; at Festival City Mall, spectators Be wowed by the Imagine water and laser show and sparkling five-minute firework display to welcome 2023.
The city’s golf courses will also be popular destinations to enjoy the festivities as Jumeirah Golf Estates Golf and Country Club, Emirates Golf Club, Montgomery Golf Club Dubai, Arabian Ranches Golf Club and Topgolf Dubai will host a range of events, parties and fireworks displays .

Merrymakers can also enjoy “a huge, organized display of sparks and flashes” at The Beach across from JBR and Bluewaters, where visitors and residents can also watch the DSF drone light show. Global Village will celebrate the New Year with several fireworks aligned to the different time zones of the countries participating in the annual fair; while family destinations at Dubai Creek, Al Seef, Dubai Parks and Resorts, Bab Al Shams Desert Resort and Al Khayma Desert Camp will ring in the new year.

International celebrities will perform concerts at various locations in Dubai. Australian singer Kylie Minogue will host a concert at Atlantis, The Palm; while award-winning artist Enrique Iglesias and Cuban reggae duo Gente De Zona will perform live at Naamos. Pop queen Nada Al-Qalaa, hit producer Taha Suliman, Maghreb pop group MarSimba, Russian boy band Ivanushki International, Nigerian-Swedish artist Dr. Alban, Danish pop star Tomas Nevergreen, Dutch band Ten Sharp will also be in Dubai .
Abu Dhabi

Ringing in the New Year also means setting a new Guinness World Record in Abu Dhabi, as the capital welcomes 2023 with a 40-minute fireworks display. The celebrations, which are part of the Al Wathba Sheikh Zayed Festival, will also feature drone shows, parades, dancing fountains, live music, pavilions showcasing Emirati heritage, art competitions and other playground events.
Fireworks extravaganzas will also be held at other Abu Dhabi landmarks, including the 8km stretch of Abu Dhabi Corniche, the Yas Bay waterfront, Saadiyat Beach Club and Al Maryah Island, where there is also the Ripe Market and Winter Village, offering Activities such as ice skating, sledding and snowfall.
In Al Ain, there will be fireworks displays at two locations, including Jebel Hafeet and Hazza bin Zayed Stadium. The night skies over Madinat Zayed, Liwa Tal Moreeb, Al Mirfa Beach and Ghayathi in the Al Dhafra area will also be lit up with fireworks.
Sharjah/Ras Al Khaimah/Ajman
Sharjah’s Al Majaz Waterfront will host an eight-minute fireworks display, with one of the best views coming from Al Noor Island, which has special arrangements for New Year’s Eve.
Khorfakkan Beach will host family-oriented activities from 7.45pm, including LED, fire and bubble shows.
The Ajman Corniche and Fujairah’s Umbrella Beach will also set off fireworks, while Ras Al Khaimah will set a world record for simultaneous drone-launched fireworks over the 4.7km beachfront between Al Marjan Island and Al Hamra village.
