On a significant the UAE’s Energy Minister, Suhail Al Mazrouei, unveiled the ambitious Salamah 365 project, marking a remarkable step towards enhancing public safety throughout the nation. The project, driven by innovative solutions and interactive warning systems, seeks to address critical aspects of safety and security, focusing on accident prevention, smart education, and proactive flood prediction.
One of the primary goals of Salamah 365 is to identify and rectify accident blackspots—specific locations on the road network where historical data shows a concentration of road traffic collisions.
By strategically targeting these areas, the project aims to mitigate risks and reduce the number of road fatalities and traffic accidents, ultimately elevating the country’s standing in global safety indexes.
Moreover, the project will introduce a locally tailored model of pedestrian crossings, further enhancing the safety of road users. These smart pedestrian crossings will leverage cutting-edge technology and seamless connectivity to ensure optimal safety and efficiency for pedestrians and drivers alike.
In its commitment to fostering safe and smart communities, Salamah 365 will also implement a forward-looking and adaptive approach to predicting floods. By closely monitoring dams and valleys, the project endeavors to anticipate potential flood events before they occur, enabling timely and effective preventive measures to safeguard lives and property.
The pilot phase of Salamah 365 will commence by monitoring 16 dams and nine main valleys. This initial implementation will serve as a crucial testing ground, allowing for refinement and optimization of the flood prediction system.
Highlighting the significance of collaboration, Al Mazrouei emphasized the importance of effective synergies between federal and local government entities and the private sector. The project aims to engage all relevant stakeholders to ensure that safety criteria are met in the nation’s infrastructure, roads, and dams under all conditions.
Another cornerstone of Salamah 365 is the implementation of a safe, smart school model, which will prioritize the safety and well-being of school students. Through advanced technologies and innovative strategies, the project aims to create secure and conducive learning environments, thereby nurturing the next generation with enhanced safety standards.
The launch of the National Programme for Infrastructure Development, of which Salamah 365 is a transformative part, marks a significant milestone in the country’s vision to become a global leader in infrastructure quality. The UAE has long been recognized for its ambitious initiatives, forward-looking projects, and stringent regulations to ensure that its infrastructure, roads, and buildings remain at the forefront of modernity and safety.
With a steadfast determination to achieve excellence, the UAE is poised to set new standards in public safety and infrastructure development. Salamah 365 serves as a testament to the nation’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the well-being and prosperity of its citizens and residents, solidifying its position as a global role model for cutting-edge infrastructure and transport systems.
