A drowning woman was rescued by a rescue team from Sharjah Civil Defense and Sharjah Police on Sunday night. She was accompanied by her husband, whose body was later found after a search by a dedicated team.
On Sunday night (January 22), after receiving a report from an Arab to the central operation room, the rescue team and patrol police dealt with it immediately. The person informed the operating room that an Asian couple had drowned at Al-Mamzar Beach.
Rescue teams were able to help the wife and ensure her safety, while the drowned husband’s body was pulled from the sea by officials. The team attempted to resuscitate him and administer first aid, but he was unresponsive. It was later discovered that he had died while trying to save his drowning wife.
Sharjah police are investigating the circumstances of the deceased’s death.
The rescue department appealed to the public not to swim in the changeable weather and to follow the instructions issued by the competent authorities of the country to maintain public safety.
Authorities call on residents to observe all precautionary measures, practice swimming in designated areas, stay away from current areas where guide boards are installed, avoid prohibited times such as nighttime, and follow the instructions of inspectors and rescuers.
