A Dubai court sentenced a man to two years in prison for sexually assaulting a foreign woman after being kept in a villa for seven hours.
According to court records, the man lured her into his home after meeting the woman on social media.
The victim told the police that she became friends with the defendant through social media in April last year. The friendship grew, and they agreed to meet five other people in a hotel.
After staying in the hotel for a while, the defendant proposed to spend the rest of the night in his villa. When she was sitting in his car, she asked one of his friends to drive. She said that when they arrived at his house, she found her car there and thought everyone was there, according to Emarat Al Youm.
In the house, when she asked him to take her to the bathroom, he accompanied her to the top floor. There, he tried to sexually assault her, and when she opposed him, he slapped her in the face and threatened to kill her.
The woman said that the defendant even threatened that if she disobeyed him, he would bring his friends to attack her. The victim told the police that she was unable to resist him due to his physical strength, adding that he only released her seven hours later.
She reported the case to the police, who arrested him and handed him over to the public prosecutor.
The victim said that the defendant was very polite to her throughout the entire process they met through social media.
