A man has sued a clinic after being burned while undergoing laser treatment. He is seeking Dh60,000 in damages.

The man said in the lawsuit that he paid Dh4,725 to the beauty clinic for the laser treatment.

However, he suffered burns during the treatment, causing him severe pain. He added that the negligence and error of the technicians caused the burns.

In the lawsuit, the man is asking the clinic to compensate him for the Dh4,725 he paid for the botched laser treatment and Dh60,000 for the physical, mental and material damage he suffered.

The Al Ain court of first instance dismissed the man’s case because he failed to submit a report to the Medical Liability Commission. These are mandatory in cases involving medical negligence.

The plaintiff’s attorney admitted in court that his client did not face the Medical Liability Board before taking the case to court.

The man was told to pay the clinic’s legal costs.
