UAE: Man who lost Dh16,000 in phone scam gets refund thanks to police – News

Ajman police have helped an Arab man recover Dh16,000 stolen from his bank account by an online scammer.

Lieutenant Colonel Ghaith Khalifa Al Kaabi, head of the Al Madinah Integrated Police Station, said the center had received complaints that a person of Arab nationality had been scammed and had money withdrawn from his bank account because someone called him on his mobile phone, claiming that the police And asked him to update his personal data “with the police”.

He said the victim gave his bank card number and PIN to the Asian scammers. The Asian used the data to withdraw Dh16,000 from his account.

After reporting the case, the police took necessary legal measures, contacted the relevant bank, and provided the bank with details of the confiscation of the victim’s money. After a week of coordination and cooperation, the stolen money was deposited into the victim’s account.

The complainant came to the police station with his children and expressed his gratitude to the Ajman Police for their swift action and efforts to return the money to his account.
