He has also represented some of the top teams including Rabdan Motorsport and Dragon Racing.

Even more impressive, after his early 20s exposure to karting at the Dubai Autodrome, he trained as a pilot before switching to motorsport. The field has been crucial to his development on the track and the sport is now his passion. After seeing growth over the past decade, he was full of praise for the UAE sports authorities for helping to increase the popularity of the sport.

He said: “Motorsport has always been in my blood so it’s great to see where we are today in the UAE in terms of drivers, facilities and competition. I remember when I first started my career there were 25 People signed up for events at the track because it was relatively new back then, but now we’re seeing that number increase because of the popularity of the sport and the facilities and programs that are in place.

“There are a lot of programs available today for people to get their first driving experience on the track or to get a better understanding of motorsport. It’s great because it helps get more people interested in the sport.

“At the same time, the UAE has become a global sporting destination, with many elite motorsport events taking place here, which not only helps to attract the best racing drivers in the world, but also provides opportunities for drivers from the region to compete in them. Knowing that it will be a high standard of competition that will help them develop as individuals. So it’s a great time and we’re seeing a growing interest in motorsport in the UAE, which is good for the growth of the sport.”

Apart from his full-time position as Operations Manager in a family business specializing in government and medical services, Al Mehairi also works as a driving instructor at Dubai Autodrome or as a coach for some local teams, passing on his valuable experience to individuals.

He believes it is important to give back to the community as he feels it is his responsibility to be involved in helping the game grow and show how exciting it is.

He said: “Dubai Autodrome offers some really exciting driving experiences in some remarkable cars, so it’s my job to make sure they have a good time. Driving on a track is nothing like driving on normal roads, That’s what it’s about for me to teach them how to drive on the track and for them to learn about motorsport. While the intention is for them to have fun, I’ll also explain where he needs to improve and what their strengths are so that if the guy comes back, They’ll know what to focus on.”

He added: “I really want to encourage as many people as possible to race, which is why I often give up coaching time outside of my full-time job. Motorsport is a very expensive sport and when people try it in the first few weeks Sometimes they get disappointed with their performance. But it takes time to develop and learn – something I discovered when I moved to France during my career to play in tournaments.

“That’s where coaching becomes important, I want to be here to inspire the next big thing. I’m always up to speed on what’s going on around the world, so helping people get on the track is something I enjoy doing because it’s not only Good for them and good for motorsport in the UAE.”
