The Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) and the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG) held a two-week training camp culminating in a series of friendly matches at the Royal Dar es Salaam Golf Club in Rabat, Morocco.
23 Emirati and Moroccan ladies and teens trained using the Royal Golf Dar es Salaam Golf Club’s world-class short game and driving range facilities.
National teams have the opportunity to practice wedge games, bunker games and putting.
In addition to training, FRMG organizes three-day friendly matches to form teams based on players’ handicap. A mix of EGF and FRMG teams played in a series of different nine-hole tournaments.
“The training camp and friendly matches have been a huge success. Allowing players to train together will give them the opportunity to build lifelong friendships. I would like to thank the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and the Royal Dar es Salaam Golf Club for their hospitality and support ,” said General Abdallah Al Hashmi, Vice-President of the UAE Golf Federation.
“We look forward to continuing to build this relationship and hosting more training camps in the future,” he added.
In addition, three men’s players Ahmad Skaik (No. 63 in the world amateur golf rankings), Abdalla Al Musharrekh and Rashid Al Emadi traveled to Ifrane, Morocco to join the Moroccan men’s team and the Rutgers University golf program for a seven-day training session.
Players are training for the 2022 World Amateur Team Championship (Eisenhower Trophy) in France.
