The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), in collaboration with health sector partners, has announced the deployment of dedicated health education teams at airports, a strategic initiative aimed at protecting the health and safety of pilgrims from infectious diseases.
The teams will accompany the Hajj convoy before they leave the country, providing basic health guidance and outlining precautions to be taken before, during and throughout the Hajj.

The move is part of the ministry’s unified awareness campaign for the current Hajj season titled “Safe and Healthy Hajj”. The campaign was launched in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Department of Health, Abu Dhabi Public Health Center and Dubai Health Authority.

As part of the plan, the MoHAP team will ensure that pilgrims receive the necessary vaccinations to prevent infection and undergo health screenings, including blood pressure and diabetes testing, with a focus on those with chronic diseases, the elderly and pregnant women.
In addition, the team will advocate for adherence to preventive measures, such as avoiding heat stroke and physical exertion, which increase the risk of contracting diseases and health complications. Additionally, the team will emphasize the importance of maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet.
