The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has noted Zimbabwe’s re-engagement and investment charm offensive and is keen to strengthen relations with all aspects of Harare.

The UAE Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Jassim Qasimi, said his country is committed to working with the country in its quest to empower youth.

The UAE’s interest in doing business in Zimbabwe, one of the world’s largest economies, shows that a lot of capital is taking a strong interest in a local economy that is waking up and heading towards an upper-middle-income country by 2030.

Some local youths recently attended an exchange meeting with the UAE in Harare

President Mnangagwa is personally at the forefront of an investment push aimed at unlocking the full potential of the economy for the benefit of citizens through his slogan “Zimbabwe is open for business”.

Ambassador Qasimi showed local youth some encouraging progress in promoting youth in his country.

“The government is eager to benefit from the potential of young people and strengthen their role in the UAE and the region as it appoints the world’s youngest minister, His Excellency Sharma Al Mazroui, as Minister of Youth.

“The UAE is stepping up its pace and steadily advancing youth empowerment,” Ambassador Qasimi said.

“Practical examples of government support for youth include the establishment of the UAE Youth Council in partnership with local and federal authorities, and the Youth Circle as a platform to discuss youth aspirations and challenges and help them adopt practical solutions.”

Recently, Zimbabwe and the UAE have established a strong partnership, as evidenced by the investment commitments made by UAE investors in multiple sectors.

The UAE takes a leadership role at the global level in empowering young people in all fields, and the world is watching the national initiatives to achieve this.
