Agencies of the two countries will strengthen bilateral cooperation in priority space areas, including technology research, aerospace, education
The UAE Space Agency and the Philippine Space Agency (PhiSA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in scientific research, space exploration and knowledge exchange to serve mutual interests and promote international partnerships that support science and knowledge exchange space industry.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Space Agency Administrator Salem Butti Salem Al Qubaisi and Philippine Space Agency Administrator Joel Joseph S. Marciano Jr. during the Abu Dhabi Space Debate in the presence of representatives from both parties.
This partnership is part of the UAE Space Agency’s aim to strengthen cooperation with international partners in space science and the peaceful exploration of outer space. It aims to accelerate the development of space technology and science in the UAE and contribute to the provision of research and exploration in the service of humanity.
The MOU aims to strengthen and develop areas of cooperation between the two institutions in accordance with relevant laws and regulations and national policies of the two countries, based on the principle of mutual benefit.

Under the agreement, agencies of the two countries will strengthen bilateral cooperation in priority space areas, including exploration, scientific and technological research, aerospace, education, and more.
The MOU allows the two parties to conduct joint research and development in the space field, serve common interests, and accelerate the development of the space field, related science, technology and applications.
The MOU also supports the exchange of spatial data in support of various areas of mutual interest such as climate change, disaster management, emergency response, food security and agriculture. This will strengthen the contribution of both institutions to the process of environmental sustainability.
Under the MOU, the two agencies will jointly participate in scientific missions aimed at space exploration and acquisition of related data, and hold joint conferences, workshops and knowledge-sharing activities on space science and technology applications. The UAE Space Agency and the Philippine Space Agency will collaborate to support space education through student and postgraduate exchange programmes.
