Abu Dhabi Police has launched a new recording studio to enable diverse engagement with the community. The studio will be used to record alerts during emergencies, among many other functions, to help improve safety and security across the emirate.
On the occasion of World Radio Day, the studios of the Army Security Media Department and the Command Affairs Department were launched.
In a speech on the occasion of World Radio Day on 13 February, Abu Dhabi Police Commissioner Major General Maktoum Ali Sharifi emphasized that local media in all its forms are important partners of Abu Dhabi Police Headquarters.
He lauded its effective and influential role in maintaining communication with all segments of the community, spreading safety and traffic awareness, and providing familiarity with customer and partner perspectives and trends.
Al Sharifi highlighted Abu Dhabi Police’s keenness to strengthen partnerships and cooperation with various local radio stations, commending the role of the broadcasters and their ongoing and fruitful cooperation in delivering daily information on Abu Dhabi Police to multicultural audiences .
Brigadier Mohammed Ali Al Muhairi, Director of the Security Media Department, said: “The recording studio is one of the development projects coordinated by Abu Dhabi Police and the Center for Strategic and Institutional Development. It serves the goals of Abu Dhabi Police and its continuous efforts to engage with the community. Communication channels are diverse.”
Al Muhairi noted the importance of the new studio for quickly sounding alerts and broadcasting traffic, community and other awareness messages in emergencies. He emphasized the organization of professional training courses for talented police officers to introduce, prepare and instruct courses and to advance the approved practical training programs for college students.
The official added that the Abu Dhabi Police are keen to provide daily information and alerts in emergencies and broadcast radio programs focusing on safety, community and awareness of guidance on different social issues such as the dangers and damages of drugs, traffic compliance Regulations, crime prevention and hazards of certain phenomena and behaviours.
Abu Dhabi Police’s recording studio will be multitasking, most importantly recording voiceovers for police documentaries and awareness campaigns, recording radio interviews for police spokespeople, traffic and community awareness projects, sirens, reports, news and other materials.
In addition to archiving recorded material, the studio will be used to train university students and police talent.
