The Director of the Investigation Division explained the various tactics used by criminals to rob victims.
They often kick their victims, spit on them, and when they divert their attention, they will snatch wallets and bags containing cash and other items.
Today, the most common method used by criminals is to impersonate a car dealer. They provide cars with prices below the market value to attract potential buyers. They often rush to complete the transaction and flee after receiving the cash without delivering the vehicle.
The campaign aims to educate the public about the methods of offenders and how to respond.
Colonel Omar Sultan Abu Al-Zoud, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Sharjah Police Department, stated that the campaign is being carried out in three languages: Arabic, English and Urdu.
The campaign is organized in cooperation with the competent authorities to educate the public about the dangers of these crimes, and caution and wisdom are required when dealing with these crimes, especially because criminals continue to reinvent methods to harm victims.

The campaign was launched after a series of reports on theft and pickpocketing crimes in the first half of this year.
The police stepped up their efforts and arrested a large number of thieves and pickpockets throughout the city.
Achieving safety and security requires raising community members’ awareness of these crimes in order to remain vigilant and cautious.
