Abu Dhabi made a significant announcement on Monday, unveiling housing benefits worth Dh2.18 billion aimed at supporting 1,502 citizens across the emirate. This monumental initiative, approved by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to meeting the housing needs of its citizens.

The comprehensive housing benefits package encompasses a range of support measures, including housing loans, ready-built houses, and residential land grants, with a combined value exceeding Dh2.082 billion. These measures are expected to assist 1,407 citizens in realizing their homeownership aspirations and enhancing their quality of life.

Moreover, special provisions have been made for senior citizens of UAE, retirees with low incomes, and the families of deceased citizens, who have been exempted from housing loan payments totaling more than Dh98 million. This exemption, benefiting 95 citizens in the emirate, reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring the welfare and financial security of vulnerable segments of society.

Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi  UAE Housing Authority, expressed gratitude to the leadership for their steadfast dedication to addressing the housing needs of citizens. He highlighted the significance of this initiative in promoting stability, social cohesion, and familial well-being within the emirate, aligning with its overarching development goals.

Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing the welfare of Emirati citizens. He emphasized the authority’s dedication to continually improving its programs and services to ensure housing for all citizens while advancing the housing sector in line with the leadership’s directives and vision.

The timing of the distribution of the housing benefits package, coinciding with the upcoming Eid Al Fitr, underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing the well-being of Emirati families. This initiative seeks to provide not only adequate housing but also to enhance welfare, stability, and overall quality of life, thereby contributing to the holistic development of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

With this latest allocation, the total value of housing benefits in UAE  disbursed since the establishment of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority surpasses Dh149 billion, reflecting the government’s sustained efforts to address the housing needs of its citizens and foster inclusive growth and prosperity across the emirate.
