President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has directed $3 million to support the rebuilding of the Palestinian town of Huwara and help those affected by recent events.
The initiative will be implemented by the Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), in partnership with the UAE-Palestine Friendship Club, as part of the UAE’s humanitarian efforts to support the Palestinian people.
The DMT convened a meeting to discuss mechanisms to implement the initiative and provide support, attended by Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Ministry of Municipalities and Transport; and a Palestinian delegation, including Moeen Dmaidi, Mayor of Huwara City ; Jalal Odeh and Mohamed Abed al Hameed, members of the City Council; and Ammar Alkurdi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE-Palestine Friendship Club.
The meeting also discussed the prospect of strengthening joint cooperation between the two parties in the field of municipal work.
Al Shorafa welcomed the Palestinian delegation and reiterated the UAE leadership’s keenness to support the Palestinian people and contribute to the reconstruction of the affected areas of Huwara.
