Sheikh Mohamed and the Vietnamese Vice President reviewed various areas of cooperation between the UAE and Vietnam and discussed ways to further develop these cooperation, especially in joint investment, economic development, renewable energy, food security and other areas that strengthen both countries aspects’ sustainable development efforts.
The UAE President and Vo Thi Anh Xuan discussed the COP28 climate conference to be held in the UAE later this year. Sheikh Mohamed said the UAE looks forward to Viet Nam’s effective participation in joint international efforts to combat the impact of climate change.
Sheikh Mohamed said that the relations between the UAE and Vietnam have grown continuously since their establishment in 1993, and welcomed the signing of the Joint Statement of Intent to start talks aimed at establishing a comprehensive economic partnership agreement, which will further promote relations between the two countries.
Sheikh Mohamed thanked Vietnam for supporting the UAE in becoming an ASEAN dialogue partner, stressing that the UAE is committed to continuing to implement the UAE-ASEAN joint action plan.
The Vietnamese Vice President thanked her for the warm welcome she received, stressing Vietnam’s eagerness to strengthen relations with the UAE in various fields to advance the development efforts of both countries.
She pointed out that this visit coincides with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and she believes there will be many opportunities to further strengthen and develop bilateral relations.
Vo Thi Anh Xuan praised the UAE’s overall progress while preserving its identity, culture and traditions, noting that this experience is a model for countries looking to grow in the future.
She also conveyed the invitation of Vietnamese President Sheikh Mohamad to visit Vietnam, emphasizing that mutual visits between delegations of the two countries will help create new opportunities for cooperation.
Upon his arrival in Qasr Al Watan, the Vietnamese Vice President was welcomed by the Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidency Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The formal reception included a guard of honor, the performance of the Vietnamese national anthem and a 21-gun salute.
