Under a new law, Abu Dhabi will establish a new learning institution for child development.
In his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, issued laws establishing the National Academy for Child Development as part of the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority.
The Academy aims to provide education, training and lifelong learning programs related to children’s affairs, child development and childcare, while upholding the values ​​and national identity of the UAE. It also seeks to provide learners with an appropriate academic and training environment to facilitate the development of their knowledge and skills in various areas of child development, in coordination with competent authorities and in compliance with applicable laws.
By law, its mandate includes establishing a system of academic and training excellence through the development of education and training programs related to children’s affairs, child development and care, in line with the Abu Dhabi Social Sector’s Strategic Plan.
The College will award qualifications and degrees and provide advice, information and other related services in accordance with applicable law.
The National Academy of Child Development Abu Dhabi will begin accepting registrations this month (June) for the first study program commencing in the new school year in September 2023.
The Faculty will also conduct academic and applied research relevant to its scope of work, and organize and participate in conferences, seminars and workshops, as stipulated by law.
The Academy will coordinate with the competent authorities to establish and develop partnerships, enter into agreements and memorandums of understanding, and carry out collaboration and knowledge-sharing activities with relevant entities. Work with the competent authorities to formulate a recruitment and employment system to promote the employment of students.
The Academy will advise on the development of relevant academic and training programs offered in the UAE and will promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in projects and initiatives relevant to its mandate.
