His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President, has ordered Dh25 million in emergency humanitarian assistance to people affected and displaced by heavy rains and floods in Sudan to help alleviate their suffering and improve their living conditions.
Sheikh Mohammed’s directive to provide such assistance expresses the solidarity of the UAE and its people with the Sudanese people under such dire circumstances.
Relief aid is also aimed at supporting Sudan’s efforts and capacity to contain the effects of torrential rains that have flooded swathes of the country.
This gesture is a testament to the deep-rooted relationship between the two countries and is in line with the UAE’s policy and its humanitarian mission of reaching impoverished communities around the world through relief and humanitarian programmes and projects, helping to alleviate their suffering and advance their lives development efforts.
