Leaders witness Masdar exchanging agreement with Ethiopian government to develop solar projects

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed at the Qasr Al Shati Palace on Tuesday, as he is visiting the country for Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed and the Ethiopian Prime Minister discussed ways to advance bilateral relations for the benefit of both countries and peoples.
They saw Masdar exchange an agreement with the Ethiopian government to develop a first phase of solar power projects with a total capacity of 500 MW, with the aim of developing up to 2,000 MW of similar projects in the East African country.
The agreement was exchanged between Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Ethiopia’s Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and Ahmed Shide, Minister of Finance.
