Chinese officials have offered condolences to the UAE president on the passing of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He also congratulated Sheikh Mohammed on his inauguration as UAE President and wished him success in leading the country to achieve greater progress and development in various fields.
During their meeting at the Shati Palace, Sheikh Mohammed and Jayic discussed the outstanding relationship between the two countries and the great opportunities to expand, diversify and strengthen joint work on the basis of comprehensive strategic partnership, especially in investment, Economy, trade, technology, healthcare, environment and food safety, etc.
They also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments and several issues of mutual concern.
Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, attended the meeting; Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hayan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Special Affairs Adviser, Ministry of Presidential Affairs; Khaldoun Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Bureau, member of the Executive Committee, and many other officials.
The Chinese delegation includes Deng Li, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs; Qian Keming, Vice Minister of Commerce; Deng Boqing, Deputy Director of the China International Development Cooperation Agency; and Su Wei, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Development and Reform Commission. Jiechi presented Sheikh Mohammed with a souvenir of the Chinese painting of the famous Chinese painter Feng Yuan, which depicts “the beauty of spring in the Jiangnan region of China”.
