UAE President, Vice President attend Nafes Awards ceremony in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended the 2022 Part of the award ceremony for the winners of the first NAFIS Awards in 2023 at Qasr Al Watan.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed stressed that empowering a skilled and qualified national workforce is a top priority and that all institutions, government departments and private sector partners should work together, Wam reported on Wednesday.

He expressed confidence in the UAE’s ability to advance the country’s economic leadership and competitiveness in various fields.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid noted that Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan is overseeing the emirates program, The UAE Talent Competitiveness Council has launched a series of comprehensive opportunities to boost the presence of UAE nationals in the private sector.

He said: “We have set ambitious national targets to develop an Emiratisation plan, which is central to the UAE’s development journey. Our policies focus on strengthening partnerships between government and private sector institutions, investing in the potential of youth, and improve their expertise.”

A host of ministers, senior officials, public figures and business figures were also in attendance at the event, during which the names of the winners were announced and their achievements in 2022 recognized.

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, highlighted the UAE leadership’s support for the Emiratization initiative and their commitment to provide all possible support to skilled and qualified workers to enhance their active participation in the country’s development.

He added: “The Emiratisation policy is backed by wise leadership and the final phase has seen the launch of a series of comprehensive initiatives aimed at creating a supportive environment for Emiratisation and strengthening the private sector as a major player with strong capacity and capabilities. Al Awar emphasized that the NAFIS Awards aim to promote active competition among private sector institutions in Emiratisation by honoring those who have achieved the necessary goals and honoring outstanding Emirati talent in the field. Ghannam Butti Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the UAE Talent Competitiveness Council, said that the launch of the inaugural NAFIS Awards 2022-2023 aims to recognize private companies, the Emiratis working in them, and those who meet the conditions and objectives of Emiratis and have achieved outstanding performance results.

Al Mazrouei emphasized that the award advances the vision of the UAE leadership by encouraging private sector institutions to increase the participation rate of Emirati citizens in the labor force and to achieve significant leaps in the country’s development journey and the country’s economic system. In addition, the award honors Emirati individuals and recognizes their achievements in their respective fields.

The award is made up of several categories. The Best Companies to Achieve Emiratisation goals consist of 3 main categories: Large Companies (1000 employees or more), won by Majid Al Futtaim Hypermarkets LLC; Medium Companies (500 to 999 employees), won by Al Masar Recruitment Services; Smaller companies (less than 499 employees), won by KPMG Lower Gulf Limited.

The first round of the NAFIS Awards also honored 21 companies for their outstanding efforts in Emiratisation through the recruitment and training of Emiratis, including: Majid Al Futtaim Cinemas LLC (VOX); Al Futtaim Sdn Bhd; Injazat G42 Company ; Cliff Bay DWC LLC; Human Resource Services OMB; Al Dar Project; Riyadh School; Al Rayana School; Emirates Airline Response Services LLC; Timad Holdings; IGG Emirates Advanced Training LLC; Al Shuweihat LP; Lulu Hypermarkets; Jindal SAW Gulf; Halliburton Global Limited; Mitsubishi Heavy Industries; and Maximon for project management.

The “Individual” award covers several sub-awards. Ghanim Ghuloom Ali Karam won the supervisory/leadership job category; Fatima Mubarak al-Karbi won the administrative job category; the medical job category was won by two outstanding Emirati talents, Amal Abdullah AlMulla Al Muhairi and Noura Salem Mohammed Al-Nashmi Al Mansoori; Abdulrahman Mohammed Khalfan Kharbash won the Finance Jobs category; Lawyers Jobs won the Lawyers Jobs category; the Professional Jobs category was won by Mona Ibrahim Jomaa Abdullah Al Mansouri; Chadha Ali Ibrahim Obaid Shehhi won the Retail Jobs category; Abdullah Khalid Ali Abdullah Al Raissi won the Internship category .

The NAFIS Awards also highlighted the success stories of 15 talented and distinguished Emiratis working in different areas of the private sector. They are recognized for demonstrating a high level of professionalism in their work.

The NAFIS award encourages skilled Emirati talent to work efficiently and become competitive in the labor market, while attracting young people to work in the private sector after graduation as their first choice.
