The UAE president is scheduled to visit Islamabad on Monday to discuss friendship and cooperation between the Gulf states and Pakistan, as well as ways to strengthen both countries in various fields.

The UAE President paid a private visit to Pakistan on January 25 and held bilateral talks with Prime Minister Sheikh Baz Sharif upon his arrival in Punjab province Rahim Yar Khan. He was due to visit Islamabad on Monday, Geo News reported.

Sharif and members of his cabinet will greet the UAE president on Monday at the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Noor Khan Air Base.

The Emirati leader will be escorted by a Pakistan Air Force JF-17 aircraft to the air base, where he is supposed to receive a 21-gun salute.

The UAE president will then receive a guard of honor ceremony from the Pakistan Armed Forces at the Prime Minister’s Office, after which he will have a one-on-one meeting with Sharif.

After arriving in Pakistan on January 25, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan dropped clues of his government’s plans to expand its investment footprint in Pakistan — as The country desperately needs foreign capital inflows to shore up its deteriorating economy.
