Residents of the UAE will enjoy their second and longest holiday on the eve of Eid al-Fitr next month. The first long holiday of the year is held during Eid al-Fitr in April.

According to the official announcement of the UAE holidays, employees in the country will be on the eve of Eid al-Fitr, Hirji New Year and Propet Mohammed’s birthday (peace be upon him).

According to astronomers’ calculations, the public and private sectors in the UAE will enjoy the Eid al-Fitr holiday from the 9th to the 12th of Zul Hijjah, the last month of the Islamic calendar, which is based on the lunar calendar and consists of 29 or 30 days.

According to the Gregorian calendar, Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated from Tuesday 27th June to Sunday 2nd July inclusive. Therefore, people will enjoy a six-day holiday during the sacrifice festival.

However, the next long holiday will be three days during the Hijri New Year period. To mark the new Islamic year, the government has declared Friday 21 July a public holiday, which means employees will have three days off, including a two-day weekend.

The fourth and final long holiday will be on Friday, September 29, 2023, providing another three-day weekend for employees in the country on the occasion of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

UAE National Day (December 2nd and 3rd) will be a holiday weekend.
