The UAE ranks first in the region and 11th globally in the 2023 list of the world’s most modern countries published by CEO World magazine.
The UAE surpassed Singapore, Sweden, the Netherlands, Malaysia, Portugal and Austria.
The ranking is based on a survey of more than 126,000 people around the world and considers three main factors when evaluating 50 countries.
They are: fashion scene, art and design, culture and market competitiveness.
The rating also monitors the countries’ reputations on media and social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram.
The UAE scored 86 in fashion, 84 in art, design and culture and 78 in market competitiveness.
France tops the overall classification of the world’s most modern countries, followed by Italy in second, Canada in third, Spain in fourth and the United Kingdom in fifth.
On the other hand, for the first time in its history, the UAE entered the list of top 10 countries in the Global Soft Power Index compiled by research and analysis firm Brand Finance.
The announcement was made on the sidelines of the annual Global Soft Power Summit, held in London, with a group of global leaders and public figures led by former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and former Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven attended the meeting.
The UAE recorded significant progress across all major and sub-indicators, reflecting the preeminence the country has achieved, making it one of the most advanced countries in the world in terms of positive impact and strong reputation.
