According to new research by London-based CoinJournal, job opportunities and salaries in the UAE cryptocurrency industry rank among the highest in the world, making the Gulf country one of the largest markets for those seeking a career in digital currencies.
The study revealed that the UAE has 137 cryptocurrency occupations listed or 14.51 jobs per million people, ranking ninth globally. There are more cryptocurrency-related jobs in the UAE than in other markets like Australia, Canada, France or Germany.
In terms of salary, the UAE also has the most attractive salary level, with an average annual salary of US$132,000, ranking fourth in the world. Cryptocurrency-related salaries in the country already surpass many countries, including the United States, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, Portugal, Hong Kong, and Egypt.
Overall, Singapore has the highest number of crypto occupation listings, with 159.14 jobs per million people, almost three times more than any other country.
The study also revealed that the U.S. and U.K. have more cryptocurrency-related jobs than the rest of the world. The data shows that there are currently 5,700 crypto-related jobs in the US, compared to 1,062 in the UK.

As for popular jobs in the crypto space, roles such as lead developer, senior developer, and smart contract developer have the highest average salary at $120,000 per year.
The University of California has produced the most blockchain business leaders with 13 alumni.
Computer science is the most popular course among blockchain business leaders, accounting for 24.55% of all study subjects, the study revealed.
