UAE receives 180 from Sudan, arrives on evacuation plane

Abu Dhabi [UAE], June 2 (ANI/WAM): An evacuation plane from Sudan has arrived in the United Arab Emirates carrying about 180 people from several countries. It was the tenth UAE evacuation flight from Sudan, where violence has been raging since mid-April. The UAE continues to prioritize the evacuation of the most vulnerable, including the sick, children, the elderly and women.

The UAE also continues to provide services to various nationals during their evacuation and stay in Port Sudan city. In addition, the UAE has hosted nationals from some 26 different countries who were brought to the UAE on evacuation flights, which have carried 997 people since April 29. The country also provided all necessary care while they were in the UAE before returning to their home countries. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) affirmed the success of the UAE evacuation operation as part of the country’s humanitarian efforts and commitment to strengthen international cooperation and solidarity. The Ministry emphasized that the UAE will continue its humanitarian approach based on the protection of civilians and the promotion of assistance and assistance to the country when needed.

The ministry affirmed the UAE’s commitment to work with its partners and the international community to achieve all that is in the interests of the Sudanese people, emphasizing the strengthening of efforts aimed at a ceasefire, restoration of the political framework and dialogue, and advancement of the transitional phase to achieve the desired political stability in Sudan and safe. The UAE has sent 10 aircraft and a ship carrying some 1,353 tons of food and medical supplies to Port Sudan as part of its humanitarian aid to those affected and displaced by conflict in Sudan, as well as Sudanese refugees in Chad, as well as 12 aircraft Delivered 277 tons of relief supplies to neighboring Chad.
