The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention reported 333 Covid-19 coronavirus cases on Friday, with 389 recoveries and no deaths.
The total number of active cases is 18,707. The new cases were detected through 179,183 additional tests.
As of October 28, the total number of cases in the UAE was 1,036,693, with an overall cure rate of 1,015,638. The death toll now stands at 2,348.
The use of EDE and thermal scanners at commercial and tourist venues and events in Abu Dhabi has been halted to further ease Covid-19 precautions, Khaleej Times has learned.
However, a green pass on the AlHosn app remains a requirement to enter most public places in the UAE capital, including shopping malls.
Meanwhile, Emirati doctors have warned that more school-age children appear to be getting sick these days, with flu and RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) infections on the rise.
Although Covid cases are now declining, medical staff stress that the coronavirus is not the only strain that poses a threat to children. “There are definitely more cases of influenza and/or RSV than Covid-19,” said Dr. Supriya G Menen, a pediatrician at the Discovery Gardens Aster Clinic.
