DUBAI – The UAE Immigration Authority has clarified that UAE residents can apply for visitor visas for relatives and friends from abroad through the UAEICP Smart App.
The Federal Agency for Identity and Nationality, Customs and Port Security (ICP) manages all visa-related operations in this area and emphasizes the use of the UAEICP app for smartphones to provide several services including applying for a visitor visa for relatives or friends.
“Applications for issuance of visas require the use of the UAE Pass digital identity to log in through the app, select “Start New Service”, tap “New Visa” to display a list containing multiple travel visas, depending on the type of visa required (30 days, 60 days or 90 days), ICP clarified.
The ICP detailed that once a user selects the option on the app to issue a visitor visa for a relative or friend, the host personal data of the country is automatically obtained. As reported by Gulf Today, applicants only need to complete the steps of submitting an application, including the visitor’s identification data, attaching the required documents and paying the prescribed fee.
The United Arab Emirates has always been a leader in the digitization of services and undoubtedly has one of the most advanced systems in this regard. Beyond digitization, the United Arab Emirates also tops the list for passport strength, ranking 15th in the world, according to the latest Henley Passport Index, released in January this year.
