Homes, hotels, malls and shops are festooned with Christmas trees in green and red as the festivities heat up. Celebrations are spread across the city, and residents can feel the joy in the air as they exchange gifts.
Many residents of Dubai are celebrating Christmas with family and friends, either at home or outside in restaurants and entertainment venues.
Italian Marco Fraschetti, who is an event specialist, will celebrate his Christmas with his sister and her husband, as his children are in Europe. “Due to my busy schedule, I’m unable to travel and will be here to celebrate,” Fraschetti said.

Fraschetti will go to his friend’s house for lunch “because his mother-in-law is here and she’s a great cook and I love the food she prepares. It’s going to be special”.
After lunch, he plans to visit his sister, where he will stay in touch with the family through dinner, games and conversations.
Dr. Carmen Chiran, a Romanian doctor in Dubai, said Christmas is an extraordinary time of year. It’s all about the family coming together to celebrate the holidays.

However, this Christmas she will be missing out on a lot of fun and precious time with her family as she will be busy this Christmas Sunday caring for her patients at Tecom’s Aster Clinic in Dubai.
Dr. Carmen said she was sad, but her work was her priority. All of us in the medical community miss being with family on special occasions like Christmas.
“But we are part of a larger mission to serve the community. Even Jesus taught his followers that the most merciful act a person can perform is to serve others,” Dr. Kamen said.
“So, I am proud and firmly believe that by serving my patients, I am showing what Jesus wants His followers to do. As a physician, I have a responsibility to serve the community and meet the needs of my patients,” Dr. Kamen added road.
However, on Saturday night, Dr. Carmen hosted a huge Christmas celebration at her home. Even her parents flew from Romania to Dubai to celebrate the festival with her.
Indian expatriate Joel Prajwal Moras started his celebrations a few days ago. He has been going out to dinner and lunch with his family and celebrated a community gathering at the Indian Club on Friday. “It was a great get-together for my kids and the other kids at the Indian Club,” Moraes said.

“My mother-in-law has flown in from India and we will be preparing for all eight Indian festivals that we usually prepare at home for Christmas,” Moras added.
Many companies in Dubai got into the festive spirit by celebrating Christmas at their workplaces before the Friday break. Real estate management company ServeHub decorated the workplace for Christmas and played a mystery Santa and Christmas-themed games. “It helps us connect with our employees and create a better work environment,” says Vani Mendon, co-founder of ServeHub.
A yachting company in Dubai is hosting a specially themed Christmas cruise for all staff, complete with turkey and garnishes. “We also designed Santa’s Grotto to deliver our luxurious gifts to all the staff. The staff are very happy because they can celebrate with their families,” said Amit Patel, Managing Director of Xclusive Yacht.
