The authorities urge residents to comply with the announcements and reports.
Residents of the UAE have been warned that the tropical cyclone “Shaheen” will affect the country’s weather conditions.
The National Meteorological Center (NCM) announced on Saturday night that the tropical cyclone “Shaheen” is expected to hit the east coast of the UAE on Saturday, October 2, when the low tide area will have a high tide period.
NCM stated that it is expected that the tropical cyclone “Shaheen” will continue to move towards the coast of the Sultanate of Oman in the next 24 hours.
“By the afternoon and evening of Sunday, October 3, parts of the country will be affected by the expansion of the tropical atmosphere, especially the eastern region, including the Al Ain region and the southern region, and extending to some central regions, where there will be convective cloud NCM. The statement said that due to the occurrence of flash floods in the valley caused by rainfall of different intensities, torrents and water will accumulate in some low-lying areas and therefore will increase.
“The wind will go from fresh to strong, causing dust and sand to rise, reducing horizontal visibility, especially convective cloud activity.”
The sea conditions in the Oman Sea will become severe to very severe, which will cause sea water to enter the eastern coastal areas of low-lying areas, and sometimes rough sea conditions will occur north of the Arabian Gulf.
NCM stated that it is monitoring tropical conditions around the clock and calls on the public to pay attention to announcements and reports issued for their safety.
“Please follow the instructions and warnings of the competent authorities. NCM will notify you in time,” the official said.
According to NCM, the tropical cyclone “Shahin” centered on the northwestern part of the Arabian Sea at 24.3°N and 60.9°E longitude resulted in the formation of different types of clouds, accompanied by rainy convective clouds and strong winds of different intensities. The sea speed around the center is from 116 to 150 km/h, and the center of the cyclone is 440 km from the coast of Fujairah.
The speed of the cyclone in the west-northwest direction is 11 km/h.
