UAE: School bus drivers and supervisors trained for new school year – News

The UAE Ministry of Transport (ET) on Monday launched its annual intensive training programme, School Transport Week, as part of preparations for the new school year 2022/2023, which begins next week.

During the week-long event, a package of training programs, awareness talks and events will be implemented for thousands of bus drivers and school bus supervisors at ET locations across the country, in partnership with a number of government and private entities.

Jasim Al Marzouqi, Executive Director, Department of School Transport, UAE Ministry of Transport, said the programme aims to ensure successful and efficient transport services for all students in schools, colleges and universities on the first day of the school year, and this dedicated work teams have Be fully prepared and do all the tasks to ensure that the requirements of the school transportation service are met.

He noted that during the initiative, all bus drivers and supervisors will participate in intensive refresher training and awareness courses aimed at enhancing their skills and abilities and reminding them of the highest standards of rules and procedures required to provide safe and efficient transport services. .

Al Marzouqi also stated that the company has completed all plans to ensure the readiness of the transport fleet serving the education sector, including the completion of preventive and scheduled vehicle maintenance operations and ensuring that all safety and security systems on school buses are fully operational, in addition to meeting the In addition to all preventive and preventive health measures required by the relevant authorities of the country.

For the upcoming school year, Emirates Transport will use 4,161 buses, 4,200 drivers and 4,500 bus supervisors to provide school transport services to 170,000 students in 504 public schools.

In addition, universities, colleges and other educational institutions transport more than 16,000 students, with more than 800 buses and 800 drivers allocated to serve them.
