Abu Dhabi-based Ahalia Exchange, a remittance and exchange company, is offering one kilogram of gold and ten luxury cars as lucky draw prizes through its winter promotion.
Expats who send money home through any of its 30 branches in the UAE will each receive a voucher to enter next year’s raffle and e-draw in Dubai. The “Ahalia Exchange Winter Sale” period starts on Thursday, December 22nd and runs until April 20th, 2023.
“Ahalia Exchange started operations in 1996. Over the past few years, we have organized many such events to build strong relationships with our clients,” Senior Marketing Manager Santosh Nair said in a press release.
Nair emphasized that the flow of remittances has increased in the past few months, which is good news for expats in general, especially blue-collar workers.
“We expect most currencies to remain weak against the dollar, which means that the rates you see, for example, the Indian rupee at 22.5 to the dirham, are expected to continue for a while and make new highs.”
This year’s event will feature 111 honorees — more than 10 times last year’s number. The grand prize is half a kilogram of gold, 25 people get 8 grams each, and the other 75 people get 4 grams each. There are 10 more luxury SUVs up for grabs.
“Our main customers are expatriates from countries like India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Philippines and African countries. The promotion is only for cross-border remittances,” said Deputy Operations Manager Shanish Kollara. “Last year, we had 11 winners, including the grand prize, but this time there will be 111 winners. We want to give as many people the opportunity as possible.”
Banking manager Mohammad Margub pointed out that the company has given away more than 100 cars in the draws over the past 10 years.
“Additionally, Ahalia Exchange has been involved in various charitable activities and always provides support to those in need,” Margub added.
Finance Manager Atiqur Rahman and Pradeesh MC, Finance Transactions also attended the press conference.
