UAE sends 2,500 generators to Ukraine

[ad_1]

The United Arab Emirates has announced the delivery of 2,500 generators to Ukraine to help the country’s people survive the winter.

“The United Arab Emirates announced today that it is sending around 2,500 household generators to civilians affected by the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, which has disrupted energy infrastructure and caused blackouts, with the aim of helping them [Ukrainians] Survive harsh winter conditions,” read a statement carried by the Emirates News Agency Wan.

As mentioned earlier, the aid includes 2,500 domestic generators, each with an output between 3.5 and 8 kilowatts. The UAE will deliver around 1,200 domestic generators to the Polish capital Warsaw today and will transfer the rest by January next year.

The support comes from the UAE’s distribution of $100 million in humanitarian relief aid to civilians affected by the crisis in Ukraine.

In response to the UN Ukrainian Emergency Appeal and Regional Refugee Response to the Ukrainian Situation, the UAE has taken the initiative since the beginning of the crisis to alleviate the suffering of those affected by sending 8 aircraft carrying 360 tons of food, medical aid and Ukrainian refugees from Poland, Moldova and Bulgaria ambulance.

The Ukrainian embassy in the UAE expressed its sincere gratitude to the government for its assistance.

“Ukraine thanks the leadership and people of the UAE for the timely critical humanitarian aid that will help thousands of Ukrainian families keep warm in winter while Russia is deliberately destroying our energy infrastructure and freezing Ukraine,” Ukraine Ambassador to the UAE Dmytro Senik at the embassy Facebook Page.

According to reports, Russian aggressors continue to launch targeted strikes on Ukraine’s key infrastructure in order to undermine the Ukrainian people’s will to resist Russian aggression. This action had the opposite effect – according to opinion polls, the determination of Ukrainian citizens to defeat the Russian invaders and completely liberate the temporarily occupied territories reached 96%.
