UAE: stranded Pakistani workers can obtain work permits, visa extensions-News

Pakistan’s ambassador to the UAE said on Thursday that Pakistani workers stranded in their home country due to the suspension of flights can obtain work permits and visa extensions through their employers.

Ambassador Afzaal Mahmood held a meeting with senior officials from the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and the Emirates (MOHRE) last Tuesday to discuss the various problems faced by foreign workers in Pakistan due to the Covid-19 pandemic Seek guidance. Embassy.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed the special envoy that workers stranded due to the suspension of flights can obtain work permits and visa extensions through their employers. The statement further stated that those seeking to cancel their visas can apply to the Department of Labor, and it will take about two weeks to obtain approval.
