Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, hosted 32 members of the UAE Paralympic Committee for the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
The Olympic Games kicked off on August 8, and with the opening of the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games on August 24, the exciting moments continue. 57 years after the Tokyo Olympics in 1964, the world’s largest disabled sports event returned to Japan, with 1,400 athletes from 122 countries competing for 14 gold medals. Among them, 12 athletes will represent the UAE to participate in track and field, weightlifting, cycling and shooting events.
Mohamed Fadhel Al Hameli, Chairman of the UAE Paralympic Committee, said: “We are delighted to be flying with our national airline and flying with our UAE team, including Abdulla Sultan Al Aryani, the shooting world champion medalist who is vying for the gold medal. We are very happy to see how far we can go at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games. With hard work, persistence and a little luck, we can win.”
