UAE: Three-month lunch break rule ends today-News

The mandatory noon work break is designed to ensure the welfare of workers during the summer.

The Ministry of Human Resources and the Emirates (MoHRE) announced that starting June 15th, the noon break rule period that prohibits any outdoor work between 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm will end today (September 15).

The mandatory annual noon work break is designed to ensure the well-being and safety of workers working under direct sunlight and to protect them from high temperatures in the summer.

During this period, MoHRE issued a number of rules and procedures, and cooperated with its partners to organize many promotional activities and programs to ensure that workers are protected from heat stroke, heat stroke and coronavirus infection.

The prohibition rule excludes companies responsible for work that must be continued for technical reasons. Employers of exempted enterprises must provide refreshing drinking water, as well as local salt, lemons and other thirst-quenching items in accordance with the proportion of the number of employees and the requirements of public safety and health. authorities.
