UAE to host WTO parliamentary meeting next year

brussels [Belgium]April 28 (ANI/WAM): steering Committee of world trade organization (WTO) parliamentary meeting Approval of the UAE’s request to host WTO meetings during the 13th Ministerial Conference (MC13) of the WTO, in cooperation with the Federal National Council (FNC), Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the European Parliament, to host Abu Dhabi Q1 2024 .
The UAE’s hosting of the international event underscores the ongoing cooperation and partnership between the FNC and the IPU, and continues the UAE’s diplomatic success at international parliamentary events.

China’s hosting of MC13 is also in line with its prominent status as a WTO member and an important participant in the world’s multilateral trading system.
Participants at the 51st session of the WTO parliamentary meetingof steering Committee Commended the UAE’s efforts to host MC13 and the organization’s parliamentary session, a joint project between the IPU and the European Parliament to ensure transparency at the WTO.
Marwan Al Muhairi, FNC member and UAE representative on the committee, emphasized that given the UAE’s strategic position on the world trade map and its position as a central part of the international trading system, the UAE is keen to support the multilateral trade agenda and support efforts aimed at establishing a fair, A sustainable, flexible and comprehensive global economic system.
