Adventure enthusiasts share their outdoor experiences from around the country

Adventurer Abdul Jaleel believes that Ain offers several campsites. “There are plenty of places to camp in Jabal Hafeet. There is also a 24-hour shop near the camp,” says Jaleel.

“It’s a beautiful campsite with great views of Al Ain at night,” adds Jaleel.

Dubai resident Maria Inez camps out to rejuvenate. “I love visiting different campgrounds because each has a different character and experience,” Inez said.

Inez’s favorite campsite is Jebel Yanas in Ras Al Khaimah, and she recalls some fond memories of her travels in this location. “Had to hike up the mountain for almost three hours before reaching one of the peaks. It’s difficult if you’re not used to hiking, but once you get to the top it’s a great feeling. The views are worth it. It’s It got cold at night. The temperature dropped almost 2 degrees when I was there,” she explained.

Similar sentiments were expressed by Pakistani expatriate Farzim Tariq, who considers Wadi Shawka to be one of the best campsites in the UAE. “It’s a family-friendly place. We can camp there until late at night,” he said.

Canadian national Rosti Gordeev went camping for a while and did a digital detox. “If I’m at home, I’m either on my phone, or I’m playing an Xbox, or I’m on my laptop. When I’m camping, I’m disconnected from the digital world,” said Gordeev, who prefers to camp alone.

“I got in the car and drove away. I don’t have a specific destination, remote places are my preference,” he added.

Camping with Santa in Ras Al Khaimah

Santa Claus will be camping at the Bin Majid Resort in Ras Al Khaimah on December 24 from 4pm to 10pm. He will pitch his tent on the Long Beach ground.

Santa will meet and greet the children and sing carols with them. Children can also look forward to magic shows, live entertainment and other entertainment.

Families will have the opportunity to dine under the stars with a Christmas themed barbecue dinner.

Camping at a water park
