The UAE has been named a world leader in technical and vocational education and training in the 2022 Global Knowledge Index published by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The index was released in partnership with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation.
A WAM report said the achievement is a culmination of the UAE’s efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its vision to make the technical and vocational education and training system one of the main pillars contributing to the country’s competitiveness.
Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET), said the milestone reflects the efforts of the UAE’s wise leadership to best serve the UAE community and develop national capacity to ensure that future generations will have A prosperous and sustainable future.

He noted that the UAE’s top ranking in technical and vocational education and training indicators is a testament to the country’s leadership in the field, by providing continuous training, skills development, and recording the highest rates of enrollment and female participation in vocational courses.
Dr. Al Shamsi congratulated the UAE leadership for continuously providing ACTVET with various forms of support to develop the center’s strategy and enable it to improve the country’s technical and vocational education system in various fields.
He added that ACTVET ensures that international practices are implemented and kept abreast of the highest standards in order to maintain its drive for innovation and excellence and remain at the forefront globally.
Al Shamsi explained that the center leads a comprehensive system of applied higher education institutions, including Fatima College of Health Sciences, Abu Dhabi Institute of Technology, and many schools of applied technology. — trade arab news agency
