The clarification came on the day when the flight resumed from the Indian subcontinent.
Etihad Airways only provides flight services for passengers from Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh who transit in Abu Dhabi.
“Only transit passengers can fly,” said an Etihad Airways spokesperson.
The exemption applies to diplomats, UAE nationals and golden visa holders.
The clarification was the day when the national airline resumed flights from the Indian subcontinent.
However, Etihad Airways also pointed out in its travel update that air tickets to certain destinations will not be available.
“Please note that due to temporary restrictions, you will not be able to book connecting flights to certain long-distance destinations.”
In addition, the Etihad Help Center also provides the latest news for transit passengers: “If you have been to India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal or Sri Lanka in the past 14 days, you will not be able to enter and transit Abu Dhabi.”
