UAE universities make major academic progress in 2022

Ain: By the end of 2022, the United Arab Emirates University has achieved several academic achievements, enhanced its role and status as a leading national university, and fulfilled the requirements of the National Development Project of the National Strategic Vision to improve the education system and its academic outcomes, Possess the ability of graduates of various disciplines. The University participates in different local, Arab, regional and global events and activities during 2022 through its academic achievements and educational infrastructure, providing the best educational outcomes in the country and contributing to educational, economic, literary, cultural activities and project, strengthening its position as the university of the future.

He added that the University has achieved great success through its active participation in Expo 2020 Dubai as a forward-looking academic platform and is the only educational institution participating in the Expo by organizing different scientific and educational events and international conferences. In addition to VIPs, the UAE Pavilion was visited by more than 41,000 tourists from different countries. Expo University was able to develop new international partnerships in support of the University’s ambitious mission, and also reinforced the value of student and staff volunteering through the UAEU Pavilion Staff Student Volunteering Programme, where more than 200 students and staff volunteered participants.

The university also hosted the first international conference on “Water Resource Management and Sustainability: Solutions for Drylands” in March, where international experts from more than 55 countries presented more than 240 scientific papers to mark World Water Day. The University also participated with distinction in the 11th International Government Communication Forum, organized by the Sharjah Government Media Directorate, by organizing a dedicated session and organizing the “University Challenge” competition The University Challenge Program, with 13 teams participating, representing 8 local universities, UAE University took first place.

The University is also participating for the first time in the International Exhibition on National Security and Resilience in Abu Dhabi from 10-12 October 2022 within the Pavilion of the Ministry of the Interior. The University participated in the first Global Media Congress organized by the Emirates News Agency to showcase the University’s role in society. In addition, the university organized a Safe Retirement Forum in partnership with the Home Office. The University also participated in the Global Sustainability Conference hosted by the University of Glasgow from 31 October to 2 November to strengthen the University’s international role.

However, in terms of cooperating and supporting research, the university has 36 cooperation agreements with national and international entities. Formed a strategic partnership with TRENDS Research and Advisory and launched 11 initiatives. The university also partnered with Daman Health Insurance Company to organize an inter-university SDG debate for local and international universities operating in the country from October 25 to 27, with the participation of 15 universities.

To ensure the University’s reputation and ranking, UAE University is ranked 1st locally and 251-300 globally, along with the University of Sharjah, according to the Times Higher Education Rankings 2023. The MBA program is ranked #1 locally and globally between 121-130 according to the 2023 Global QS MBA Rankings. According to the National Institute of Inventors (NAI), the university is ranked 90th in the world based on the number of granted patents based on 2021 data. The university is also ranked 12th in the world for SDG4: Quality of Education in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings. In addition, UAEU’s global ranking of 101-200 in SDG 7 reflects the institution’s commitment to affordable and clean energy.

The university has also launched the SDGs research program for undergraduates, with 256 students involved in 56 research projects in the first cycle. In addition, the University announced the National Faculty Research Program and announced the winning research projects of the UAE University-Zayed University Research Programme, which includes 12 research projects in the first cycle.

The university has registered 24 patents and more than 2,250 research papers have been published by staff, students and researchers, he added. The school won the Academic Institution Contribution Award issued by the Association of Exploration Geophysicists in the Middle East, and won the Best Organization Award in the first China-Arab Short Video Competition hosted by China-Arab TV Station.

The university has also established a research partnership in safe driving education with Emirates Driving. In addition, 52 UAE University faculty members are ranked among the top 2% of scientists in the world, according to the Stanford University list.
